Now that things have settled in my life, I can get back to the regularly scheduled programming. 🙂 So many things have happened since I last posted a blog post. I’m now living well over 600 miles away from where I grew up and called my home for 31 years. It is very different…but I LOVE it!!
My life was a little stressful for a while and I must admit I fell into a little bit of a depression phase. (Which is why I decided to put my YouTube vlogs on pause.) I needed to make sure that I took care of myself and my family. I’m now 100% better and couldn’t be happier with life right now. Aaden and Aaliyah have made a great transition and are doing great in school. Aaden is now in 2nd grade and Aaliyah in TK. They absolutely love their schools and after school care. I absolutely love that the schools here are all high rated and the teachers and staff are AMAZING! The community itself is so family oriented and it really shows how much they pride in taking care of everyone and everything around.
One major change that we still have to really get used to is the fact that we do not have any family around. My husband does have a relative that lives in the same city, but her lifestyle is quite different than ours seeing that she is unmarried and has no children. Also, I’m very allergic to her cats. :O We visited her when we first came up here to look at housing, and I ended up going back to our hotel room with swollen itchy patches around my eyes and non-stop sneezing. My husband had to make an emergency drug store run for some Benadryl. Very fun! Even though we do not have family members here, we do have some friends that we can mingle with when we get lonely.
This past weekend we took a trip to Folsom Lake with our friends and their three girls. It was a nice and relaxing quick drive to escape the city. We packed a nice picnic lunch complete with snacks and drinks, as well as a deck of Uno cards for the kids to play with. Our friends even packed a nice bottle of red wine for the “big kids.” And by “big kids” I do mean the adults people. Anyway…we had an awesome time. The kids got to get their feet wet in the lake and enjoyed that. It was a nice 15 minute walk down to the lake from where we found our picnic spot. The water level was pretty low, so we were told it would be quite a walk just to get down there. But, the kids enjoyed the walk. I however, did not. I was wearing sandals and I had to avoid all the sharp glass and twigs that were in the sand. At least I didn’t end up cutting myself. I did get a few pictures of the kids from that day and I’m sharing them below.
I’m so happy with life right now…and I can’t wait to see what our future holds! Love, peace, and happiness always!
